Yes.

If you receive scam text messages offering solicitations like repair or yard services, or believe you have been scammed by a business or contractor, you can report them to the Florida Attorney General.

Complaints can be made online or by calling 1 (866) 966-7226.

Once you file a report, it enters a database reviewed by the Consumer Protection Division. If the report is part of a pattern of fraud, an investigation may be launched into the company.

The Attorney General doesn’t act as a lawyer for those who file complaints, and there’s no guarantee a dispute will be resolved.

However, if the state wins a settlement, applicable complainants could receive compensation or restitution.

Though the office typically investigates patterns of grievances, some individual complaints could be forwarded to the accused business to solve the issue informally.
